It emerged from the Cultural Recovery Center (CSBC), a structure established after the January 12, 2010 earthquake as part of an extensive Cultural Recovery Project for Haiti initiated by the Smithsonian Institution in collaboration with the Haitian government, and numerous local and international partners.
